It may be difficult for some people to drink eight cups of tea a day. However, British scientists recently found out that, by combining previous studies, drinking 8 cups of tea daily can help people to resist the threat of heart disease, improve brain function, but also prolong their lives.
 Summary of previous results

Cary • Ruxton, a nutritionist from the University of King's College London, UK, summarized 47 previous studies and found that tea, coffee and cocoa rich in caffeine have a positive role of promoting people's mental function as it can enhance people's sensitivity and sense of happiness, but also improve the short-term memory.
Previous studies have shown that anti-oxidants and flavonoids in these drinks can help to prevent heart disease and can reduce the risk of cancer.
Ruxton said it is best to take 400 milligrams of caffeine daily, because it has great benefit to maintain a good psychological functioning and to promote heart health.
She found in the old three studies involving a total of nearly 90,000 patients that drinking four cups of tea or coffee daily can reduce the incidence of heart disease.
Another study involving 26,500 smokers has shown that drinking at least two cups of tea every day can decrease the risk of stroke by 20%.
Because caffeine has a certain addictive, it subject to much controversy, but Ruxton insists on "clarifying people's misconceptions on caffeine." She said it is bad habit not to drink tea, "If a person never drinks caffeinated beverages, then he will not get the health benefits of caffeine."
She also suggested that it is "unnecessary" for parents not to allow their children to drink tea or coffee. She believes that to some extent it is better to drink tea or coffee than to drink juice.
British "Daily Mail" 7 reported, citing the words of Ruxton: "Caffeine is also advantageous to the health of children, but the daily intake should be controlled less than 95 milligrams, equivalent to two small glasses of tea or a cup of light coffee."
