March 2nd afternoon, a prosperous signing ceremony for a strategic cooperation between China National Pharmaceutical Group Corp. (SINOPHARM) and People’s Government of Gansu Province was held in Beijing Feitian Hotel. This indicates SINOPHARM the company bearing the duty of central medical industrial platform construction, will be fully involved in the strategic mission of the national western provinces development, and this has been into a substantive operational phase at a higher level. Board Chairman of SINOPHARM Song Zhiping, President She Lulin, Secretary of Party Committee Wang Lifeng, board member Liu Cunzhou, as well as Gansu Provincial Party Committee Secretary, Provincial People’s Congress Committee Director Lu Hao, Deputy Secretary of Party Committee, Governor of the province Xu Shousheng, leadership members from provincial government Feng Jianshen, Jiang Xinzhi and Shi Jun, had attended the ceremony.
According to the strategic cooperation agreement, SINOPHARM will be fully involved in the integration of medical distribution network and the distribution construction of logistics center, to form a distribution network and logistics centers which centered in Lanzhou, covering the whole Gansu Province and spreading out towards Qinghai and Tibet. SINOPHARM will be triggering the redevelopment of TCM resources, the construction of production base of TCM, Tibetan medicine and the processed herbs, take part in the integration of pharmaceutical companies within Gansu Province, especially the pharmaceutical intermediate manufacturers, to fully elevate the position of SINOPHARM Lanzhou Institute within the biological research and manufacture domestic industry, actively bring in strategic cooperation partners within and beyond China, make full effort to make Sinopharm Lanzhou Institute into the largest biological research and manufacture base in west China; accelerate the movement of SINOPHARM’s superior resources towards the west, fully utilize SINOPHARM’s human resource, R&D technology, pharmaceutical engineering design and pharmaceutical exhibition, etc., to seek for a broader cooperation potential, make joint effort to push the health industry in Gansu Province to a stronger, better and bigger level.
This is another strategic alliance between the company and provincial government after the last cooperation experience with the government of Shanghai and Henan. Both sides wish to take this alliance as the opportunity to fully compromise their advantages, to form a new advantage in the health industry of Gansu Province, and make contributions to the economic development of the province.
